Sally Thomson is a freelance documentary and fine art photographer based in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She explores the themes of landscape, identity, and narrative using photography as a tool for translation and storytelling. Her photographs often reflect her background in landscape architecture/environmental conservation, and explore issues related to the human condition and natural world. Sally has been involved in the study of place as a photographer, landscape architect, and conservation planner for more than 25 years. Her work has appeared in a variety of print and web-based media and has been commissioned by private individuals, and organizations. Through her tenure as the Executive Director of The Amazon Center for Environmental Education and Research (a US and Peruvian 501c3 organization), she understood the power of visual storytelling to expand awareness and foster positive change.
